Subject: PHP4 Apache Email (again)

I've seen several messages asking about how to get email functions to work on Win32 installations and a few ambiguous responses suggesting why it isn't working or saying to point to a mailserver in php.ini, but none offering any suggestions of how to set up email to really work.

More specificly, are there any applications that anybody has installed and configured to work, that would allow the mail function to work properly? I think a lot of issues for a lot of people could be easily solved if somebody who has found an application or command line binary and workable php.ini setting would simply offer the name of the application or binary, where to install it and what they entered in php.ini as workable configuration settings.
