By: Pranav Subject: RE: /tmp/mysql.sock ERROR session i had the same problem ahen i tried mysql -u root in fedora core 2.0...to rectify this first check if you have installed all components of mysql server in your installation... if not do so n restart... now open terminal window and try mysql -u root if the same error is shown(which was shown in my case) then goto the folder "/tmp"(cd /tmp) and create a file "mysql.sock "(vi mysql.sock) type something into it (i wrote my name Pranav) n save it...try the mysql command again and voila...mysql has started!! |
