Subject: No Access to PHP.ini file

Hi, i'm on a shared hosting system with no access to the php.ini file at the minute my sessions save into the '/tmp' directory however as that is filling up I am looking for another way to store the sessions, mysql seems a good way, but because I don't have access to the php.ini file is there anyway I can do this? If not, anyone have any other ways this can be done?
