By: Falk Koziol Subject: RE: Don't get out of php mode Actually I agree with paul20020729. When it comes to performance, it is preferable to leave PHP mode whenever possible. What doesn't get parsed doesn't waste execution time. Besides your HTML becomes much more readable as when it is cluttered with escaping backslashes. For the more picky programmers and performance freaks: 'print' gives a return value and is a function, 'echo' does not give a return value and is a language construct. So if you 'print' a lot in your PHP code, think about switching to echo if you don't need the return value. |
