By: David Goldfeder Subject: Where's the XML Where's the XML? This is supposed to be an AJAX tutorial, but I only see an asynchronous javascript object getting HTML formatted text and placing it into a DIV element. Would you be willing to add an extension to the article describing the differences and pitfalls of DOM parsing with XML in different browsers? This is by far the most complex part of writing your own AJAX tools instead of using a third-party toolkit. And, since the XML generated by a PHP script can be sent back to a asynchronous javascript object just as easily as HTML formatted text, the first two parts of this article would stay the same.
