your PHP installation does not contain definitions for the MS SQL Server functions. If on Windows, enable mssql.so in the INI file. If on *nix please see www.php.net/mssql

www.php.net/sqlite is what I used to teach myself SQLite

Habtamu,
database access with Javascript does not involve PHP access. PHP is server side, JS is client side, this is an important distinction. Please Google Javascript Database Access
