except instead of this

if($this->dbconnection = mysql_connect( "$this->dbhost", "$this->dbuser", "$this->dbuserpassword")){

it should be

if($this->dbconnection == mysql_connect( "$this->dbhost", "$this->dbuser", "$this->dbuserpassword")){

IOW, first line we need a double equal sign, since we are not setting a value but comparing (checking) whether a certain value is met...

that's a mistake the writer of this tute has also made somwhere in the mysqldb.obj file

or am i wrong?
