By: Norman Graham Subject: Getting the code in Tim's article to work Tim's article is quite old now, in browser terms, but the concept is excellent and I did manage to get the code to work by changing a lot of it. I guess it all depends on how and where you call your includes and echo your functions. I couldn't get the css_font function to work at all. It seems to me that it needs to return something (I'm just a beginner, though). I tried giving it parameters and echoing it at various places - the font-size stipulations in the CSS remained empty. I then stripped the code down, removing a lot of what I feel is not really necessary (What does the version matter? IE on Win gives big font defaults, no matter which version). I also removed the css_font function, just using what is contained in the function in a simple if/elseif routine. The CSS itself I transferred to an include file. Anyway, nice job Tim. It does work. An update (just in general terms - we can work out the code adjustments ourselves) would be nice. Thanks Norman |
