By: Robear Profile Subject: RE: New to php First and formost learn English. Then, get yourself a good PHP book... preferably one that has an example similar to what you are trying to accomplish. Sit in the bookstore for 2 hours if you have to in order read the contents of each book. Also read the forward/preface/intro for each book because this is usually where the author will say the level of user the book is aimed at and their level of involvement with the topic. If the user level is a little over your head but the contents reveal that your app is one of the examples used, I say go for it. Otherwise, keep looking until you find such a match. If the writing style in the beginning doesn?t suit you, or the author does not say where they work and how they use the tech they are writing about, move on. You want an expert coder who is an ok writer telling you how its done, not the other way around. |
