By: Will Green Subject: RE:Stupid Article and other things Here's an idea, using the two instances of Apache. Sites that need to use the "testing" server on port 8080, but should appear to be coming from the "live" server on port 80 could use Apache's <a href="http://httpd.apache.org/docs/misc/rewriteguide.html">mod_rewrite</a> to rewrite any URLs for that domain to append the :8080 to the end. That way, you could distribute the "vanilla" url, but the site will in fact be served off of the "testing" server. Just a thought. |
