I don't really think this would be much of an issue over using single-domain cookies. The point of this is not so much to allow the cookies to persist across multiple separate and distinct domains/sites, but as to simply allow them to persist across multiple domains within the same entity. for example, internet.com has "linuxstart.com" and "linuxtoday.com"... if you signed in to linuxstart.com, it would be nice if, when you clicked a link leading to linuxtoday.com, linuxtoday would be able to read your sessionid from the cookie and keep you logged in, rather than having to log in again. just a thought. =)
